Gehl’s three qualities of good public space

Jan Gehl and his team developed a simple but powerful framework for evaluating public space. Every good public space should offer three things:

When you design or evaluate a street, square or park, ask yourself: Does this place protect people? Does it make them comfortable? Does it invite them to stay and enjoy?
